Ear, Nose & Throat Care
Otorhinolaryngology ENT is one of the oldest surgical specialties, yet one of the most technologically dynamic. The ear, nose, throat, and structures of the head and neck encompass an extraordinary range of conditions: hearing loss affecting millions of Indians, chronic sinusitis significantly impairing quality of life, obstructive sleep apnoea causing cardiovascular and metabolic consequences, voice disorders preventing livelihoods, and head-neck cancers requiring urgent, multidisciplinary management. Modern ENT practice has been transformed by rigid endoscopy, image-guided surgery, cochlear implantation, and transoral robotic approaches, enabling surgeons to access previously inaccessible anatomy with minimal trauma.
The ENT Department at MNR Hospital provides full-spectrum ear, nose, and throat services from a well-equipped ENT operating suite. We perform Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) for chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps, micro-ear surgery including tympanoplasty and stapedotomy for hearing restoration, adenotonsillectomy, and management of obstructive sleep apnoea with sleep study coordination. Our head and neck surgery programme manages thyroid tumours, salivary gland diseases, and selected head-neck malignancies. We have an in-house audiological assessment unit offering pure tone audiometry, impedance audiometry, and brainstem auditory evoked response testing essential for diagnosing hearing disorders in adults and children.
Hearing loss is among the most prevalent yet most under-treated conditions in India. Our ENT team works closely with audiologists and speech therapists to provide holistic hearing rehabilitation from hearing aid prescription to cochlear implant candidate evaluation for severe-to-profound hearing loss. Balance disorders (vertigo), including BPPV, Meniere's disease, and vestibular neuritis, are managed with a combination of medical treatment and vestibular rehabilitation therapy.
